    Default Bull Shoals

Thinking of hitting Bull Shoals for a Crappie/Turkey trip Monday and Tuesday. Have a pretty good handle on the crappie but was wondering if anyone up there is hearing any thunder chickens getting vocal. Don't want your spot, just info on if they are getting right up there. Thanks

I was on BS yesterday playing with a new boat. Never seen water that clear in a lake.

Just messing around saw a crappie (small male) next to some buck brush.

My question to you is - how do you fish for crappie in water where you can literally see down 25'? Do they not spook?

    I heard no thunder chickens...sorry

They do spook easily in that gin clear water. Also it is down quite a bit from last year when I did so well. I have a brother in law that lives up there and keeps me on the crappie pretty good but he can't hear it thunder. LOL Thanks for the reply. Also I am typically a jig guy but minnows seem to be where it's at up there. Stick baits are working pretty well for bass right now.

I live in Izard county. I have heard a few birds talking. They are most likely with hens and are not saying much. I suggest ambush them, lol, happy hunting
