A friend of mines husband caught these on White Oak yesterday. I am a little confused about the odd fish in there. What is it? It looks like a hybrid to me. My next question, and maybe D10 can answer, why is it there? I've never known of anyone to catch one there.
Come on in boys! The water is fine!
Could be a Yellow Bass

Hello Nimrod,
I believe you have a Silver Bass, White bass Hybrid. Nice one.

I agree with Wayne that it is a white bass. You probably think it's a hybrid because some of the lines on it's side are broken like they are on a hybrid, but that happens sometimes on white bass but not nearly as distinctive as it is on a hybrid.

I have caught a few in White Oak before. I always pitch them back.....bluegills, redears, cats, & crappie get pitched in the live well and then in the grease.
Looks like a small White Bass or possibly a Yellow Bass. White Bass and unfortunately Yellow Bass are pretty common in a lot of Arkansas lakes.

Love, what more can I say
It's what I call stripped bass, most people call them a bar fish, I've caught quite a few in my day. To me they're good eating. And a lot of brim in the batch they're good eating as well.
