Default Norfork winter time crappie question

So I’m fixing to have some time off towards end of year. If weather and wind cooperate I’d prefer heading to Sardis but if not was thinking norfork. We have a place there and typically fish off the dock. However I get bored easy on dock if they aren’t biting. So wondering is spider rigging/trolling an option this time of year there? I know I have to use lighter line and typically plain hook and minnows when on the dock. I’m in the woods point hand cove area. Reading fishing report from AGFC it looks like what little is being done is vertical jigging over brush. If the fish are biting I don’t mind the dock, but I just prefer being in a boat. Any help would be appreciated.

My experience is that the water there is so clear that they spook when you troll over them. Most people I know cast out to brush piles and let the jig fall to the brush, but keep the boat away from the brush piles as far as possible. I'm no expert on Norfork though.

Mac that’s kinda what I was thinking was about the best but wasn’t sure. Guess it maybe weather dependent as to water clarity. If I make it up there I ll message u and see if your gonna be anywhere around my area.

I always figured they were telling each other not to bite. Now I am sure that's what they are doing.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

I have a good friend of mine that has a house on Norfork. He smokes the specks up there spider rigging the timber in a creek behind his house.
