Should be someone on here to help . My buddy says not much to choose from in your area
Moving to the Jonesboro area at the end of the month and was wondering if you guys had some good crappie spots. I already know about the MS lakes and Tennessee lakes because that’s the area I am in now. However, is there a body of water producing at least good eating crappie locally or a few miles out of Jonesboro?

Yea I kind of figured that from my research. I’ll probably have to do some traveling.
Lake Hogue south of Jonesboro produces a few fish. Once Lake Poinsett is refilled in 2020, it will be a place to catch a few fish. Most travel to fish in the area. There are some oxbows along the Black River that can be good
Horseshoe lake at Hughes is 1 1/2 hours away from you. Good roads the first hour.
Tell'em I'll be there.
Hadn’t fished it in many years, but we caught a lot of nice crappie from Big Lake and Mallard Lake over east of JB, in Mississippi County.

We lived in Jonesboro for several years but moved away in 1998. During those years we logged a lot of road miles chasing crappie at the big four, Mississippi and white river oxbows just to name a few. With the carp infestation it seems like Horseshoe and other freshwater lakes are getting more pressure. It's my understanding, that lake Houge has been up and down over recent years but is is really close to Jboro. Like others have said, the black river and all of its oxbows could be a potential. However, I would definately be prepared to roll up some miles on the odometers.
Yea I’m prepared to gas up no doubt! I would love to find a good little farm pond with some potential keepers in there. I think that’s all I’m really looking for. I know where to go if I want to get into the real deal. I’m 45 min from Arkabutla and 1:45 to Grenada. A lot of good water around here. Hopefully I’ll adjust
There can be real good fishing on saintfrancis river in truman
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
