I'm guessing it's probably about over, but they may still be going in your area.
Went out to Beaver this morning before the rain. Lake was up a bit but was able to put a few decent fish in the livewell. We caught several fish but not a whole lot of keepers. We were finding most of the fish in 4-5 FOT at 3ft down. Water temp was 57. Didn't take any pics because we didn't catch any big ones today, and didn't stuff the livewells....maybe next time! SO I have one question too. We've had temps up and down up and down....and I know for the most part the Black Crappie start to spawn at 58-60 degree water, so can anyone confirm if they have started yet, or our we still a few days out?

I’m not sure because every time it’s started to warm up and you would think the water temp was about to hit spawn temperature, it would plummet again, and we would have several nights of freezing temps and a few days or only highs of low 50’s....so it’s really confused me!

I'd be interested to hear what Nimrod and some of the other guys that fish a lot would have to say about this. I'll have to say, I'm really confused too.

I know some lakes major spawn was 3 weeks ago and others it is just starting . Some deep lakes it can be spread out over several week with the temp swings we been having .

I feel like it is just now starting in the river valley. Been to several lakes in the Ft. Smith area and eastern Oklahoma and just now starting to catch males up shallow that are turning dark and all females that I have been catching off of the flats and creek channels are still full of eggs with only a few that look to have dumped any eggs.
