Default Water everywhere but fish scarce

Everything flooded here . Nimrod is 372' msl which is 30' above normal . Still rising and only likes a foot to go over emergency spillway on the dam . That is a lot of extra water when lake average depth is 8' at normal pool . Water backed up for miles up the river valley .

I figured the water would be pretty high up that way right now. Hopefully we will get some dryer weather for a while soon.

It seems to be happening with every greater frequency. Have really noticed the increasing number of days it seems the wind blows hard. Especially this year. The weather is just much more unsettled than it use to be.

I always joke that the weather around here is like the Civil War. The North is always trying to invade the South or the South is trying to invade the North....and were caught in the Middle.

It's getting downright depressing how little the great rivers and their tributaries are suitable for fishing. I know houses people lived along the river for two or three generations and dealt with the occasional flood. But it got so it just wore them out...lot of them just got torn down and wasn't even worth trying to live there anymore.

Wish somebody would surrender or at least call a truce.

Nimrod went across spillway this morning . The forecast is rain chance 6 out of next 10 days . With no more rain COE water level forecast to get to 376 msl which will be 3' over spillway . Hyw #28 going west to Rover most likely go under this week !

Do you think this will improve the health of the fish thay are in there? In other words, when the water level gets to summer target floodpool will the crappie be in as good or better health than they were last fall?

Just about every lake in D-10 has flooded. Conway got up to 4' above normal pool. It flooded several homes. Not a good deal. Lake Barnett in White County rose around 25' and flooded out two houses. We have been swamped with flood related issues the past 10 days or so. I am ready for a little dry spell and things to get back to normal.

Being second year after drawdown they were growing and in good shape . I think this flood will result in a huge spawn which we don't need . High population means slow growth in most cases overall on this lake .
