Default Black Crappie and some Whites down deep in clear waters

I Caught these 24 blacks in 17 fow. And stumbled upon 16 large and lethargic White Bass that were caught and released in 20 fow near by. The water temp was 40. The whites just didnt fight like pre spawn warmer water conditions, which made for an easier fight and landing. I Was able to hover over said found fish by locating on Hummingbird and then throwing out marker float. Low wind conditions made for ideal steady slow jigging, bumping along the balled up fish. All the fish were 2 foot off the bottom. The whites were dead off at the bottom of creek chanel with the crappie hanging on the rise up 17 feet. I learned a lot on this trip for future trips this time of year. I took NOTES on much and keep a fishing log book. The White Bass pic is at Lake (with no scenery beyond), with CRAPPIE taken at the house during clean up. Midsouth chartreuse and Bobby Garland got the action started... but Ole Faithful O. D. green and Chartreuse tubes were getting the best of bites. Switching to an 1/8oz heavier jig head that deep is a must...or the jig feels too vague. The CRAPPIE were light bites. The CRAPPIE end up floating in the live Well from being caught so deep and quickly brought up to surface. All and all it was nice to use solid electronics and then experimenting with the Tubes and heads to get it dialed in. It's nice when a plan comes together. Good looking fish and great report! Congrats. Going to have to upgrade my depth finder before long.
