Default Any good crappie fishing this time of year?

Hey guys I'm pretty new to this site. Let's just say I'm a beginner when it comes to this here fishing stuff all together. I fished a lot growing up but fell out of it when in my late teens due to getting a car, girls, then trying to start a career, etc. I recently got a 14ft flat bottom about 2 months ago and I've fished almost everyday since. I'm in the central Little Rock area and have fished Fourche Creek pretty hard lately. Been putting in on Lindsey Rd and at the interstate ball park off or Arch street. I've caught 2 crappie out of 5 fishing trips to that spot. So here's my question. I'm using a paddle and I'm in a 14ft flat bottom. I'm looking for suggestion on a good place to take my flat bottom and paddle out to some good crappie holes. I have a min-Kota but no battery as of yet. I don't mind traveling and I don't mind paddling a few miles. I grew up fishing the big woods wildlife refuge around st. Charles Arkansas and I remember fishing down there with my grandfather and tearing bream and crappie up this time of year. I would go back to some of those spots but that requires an ATV to make it.

Sorry it's a long read but I look forward to gathering knowledge and learning all I can from you guys I'm 25 years old and I'm a bit behind.

Caney Creek on lake conway or Gold creek is perfect for that, but there is usally a crowd at those areas as well, but both areas produce fish and i bet you could beat better than 2 out if either spot your first trip !

Welcome to Crappie.com from Fayetteville. Girls, cars, trucks, careers have derailed a lot of young fisherman but it sounds like your back on track now. Greg is giving you some good advice. In addition, there are several other small to mid sized lakes in Central Ar that are fishable with your rig, such as Brewer, Overcup, Harris Brake, Nimrod, and Atknis. Just Google these locations and you'll find maps and available boat ramps. If you decide to join the crowd in Gold Creek, talk to Dan at the boat ramp, he will try to help put you on some fish. Good luck

Welcome from Batesville. Greg and Richard (RLCRAPPIE ) have given you good information. Give those places a try and you'll find some fish. Somebody on here might even take you or go with you sometime. Good luck.

Don't forget Maumelle just west of town . But it can get rough if you go on main lake . The Arkansas River behind the jetties or in Little Maumelle River near 430 interstate .

Lake Willastein in Maumelle is a trolling motor only lake and it has some crappie in it.
