I know you need one to hunt around the lake but can't believe you would need one to fish the lake . Call the COE office and ask .
I was told today by some friends that I need to get a WMA permit to fish Lake Nimrod. Does anyone know
If this is correct ? May have been a General Use Permit.

Those are my thoughts too Nimrod. In looking in the Regulations booklets, fishing and hunting, the only thing I could find applied only to hunting and trapping. Thanks for the reply.
I only know of a day use permit, $5 a day or an annual permit, used to be $30, from the COE to launch your boat. Or if you have a golden age card you can launch for free.

A free annual General Use Permit is required to hunt, trap, fish or boat on all WMAs along with any quota hunt permits or access permits. See WMA area notes for permits required. I found this on page 74 of the Hunting Guide booklet. Copied from the book.
I've got that covered. I've been fishing Nimrod but never heard about this permit until yesterday. I watched a person buy fishing license and the seller explained the permit to them and gave them the free permit to sign and date. It didn't make any sense to me.
Lake Nimrod is not part of the WMA

I did a search on the Millwood WMA at Nimrod Lake. The maps show that the entire lake lies within the boundties of the WMA. I am waiting for an email from Game And Fish hoping they can shed some light on this permit question. I saw the bait shop print the forms for the permit and give them to people to sign and date and were told to carry it with them while fishing Nimrod. The permits are free.
