Hey guys, neighbor from Tennessee here. I'm wanting to take my wife to the mountains in Arkansas for a short weekend getaway. Normally we go to Gatlinburg, but I am wanting something different, and have heard food things about the Ozarks. Can anyone help me on where to look at, city wise? I am wanting a cabin in the mountains, with a nice view. Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Mt. Magazine is very nice and has a good restaurant but no town near by. If your wife wants town pick Eureka Springs.

check out some of the Cabins around Ponca and Boxley Valley, great mountain views at some of these locations and you can view some of Arkansas Wild Elk within minutes, and after early November the Fall colors will explode!

Leaves may not last long this fall . Been so dry this month leaves already starting to fall . Magazine , Petit Jean , and Nebo mountain all have state parks with cabins . Buffalo river area nice with some nice rentals and the Elk can be viewed round the National Park area .Lots of choices , you may consider stopping a night at several of them .
We rented a cabin a couple of years ago in late September near Boxley and had a great time viewing the elk and listening to them bugling.

My wife and I had a great four day weekend in Eureka Springs. Lots of little shops with trolleys to take you there. Lots of restaurants, motels, and other fun things to do. HeeHaw type country music/comedy show was fun and there's also a ghost tour at the old Crescent Hotel. Wife got a massage there and I went upstairs to the bar and had a couple of great bloody Mary's. Wine tasting was fun. We stayed very resonably at the Bavarian Inn.
Theyre having a Corvette Rally there in just a couple of weeks if you're into that. GTT
