    Default People sure are sorry!

Go to my favorite lake this morning which is privately owned and get out to put my $5 launch fee in the box and someone has distroyed the box trying to steal money. And the bad part is the lake doesn't get fished much so even if the money wasn't collected daily (which it is) but if they didn't collect all week you might get $25 most of which would be from me. I just don't understand why someone would do this but it would almost have to be someone who has fished there because the lake is way off this beaten path in the middle of a bunch of farmland.
Thanks NIMROD thanked you for this post

I suppose the real surprise is that this doesn't occur more often. Shows you that nearly everyone who uses these ramps are decent folks. I'm with you tho- makes me sick that this happened.

You must be in Asian Carp Territory and close to city? If its where I'm thinking I gave a young farm boy 20 dollars one day. Forgot to break it on way there. Miss those days...

Dopers. Too sorry to work........probably drawing a free government disability check, getting free pain meds, but feel good enough to skulk around and tear up something to steal $20. My uncles used to say it's getting so bad that you "caint have nothin." GTT

It might surprise you who does stuff like that. We grew pumpkins a couple years, and sold them on a trailer by the road in the yard. I knew what to expect from people, so I had made a steel drop box for money. We have cameras, and had checked the box one day and saw like $3. So we looked at the cameras, and there had been several people stop and help themselves. One was an old lady probably in her 70's lol. Packed off 5-6 pumpkins and didn't pay!

someone later stole a giant pumpkin we had as decoration up next to the house. Needless to say I don't bother with pumpkins anymore.

Daggum hop-heads, ain't nothing safe around them no more. Surprises me that there even is an honor system anymore, anywhere. Won't be long you will have no choice but to buy an annual pass for boat launch fees, and will have to go to field offices to pay for camping!
