I'm sure someone will hook you up with some. Most people that has it wants it gone. I know of some here in Conway you can get all you want. Go on FB or the want ads there's lots of it out there. If you want to drive up here I will take you to it.

There is a large patch in the curve on Adams Lake Rd. I've never asked the owner about it but I bet the county wouldn't mind you cutting some too.close to the road.

hmmm, thanks nimrod. i thought it lasted a long time, that's why i wanted it. i will just stick to free wood from new housing and remodels then.

We don't use Pine but Hardwood and Cedar scrap ( miss cut boards , strips , and slabs ) from local mills or pallets . Some bamboo lasts longer depends on when (season ) cut I think . But after a couple years or less everything (limbs and leaves ) gone . Some poles last several years but depth may effect how long they last . Seems like here the shallower placed the faster Bamboo rotted . Last big bamboo build we did was hard to find much on last drawdown . I have seen hardwood boards (stakebeds ) driven in the early 1990 during the drawndown still there . Some pallets rot much faster than others . Our driven heavy Cedar or Hardwood stakebeds have lasted better than anything other than PVC . That is nice thing about a drawdown is checking condition of things we placed over the years .

If you use trees , not all the same . Bigger is better because small stuff like Christmas trees wrong type of wood and limbs too small to last . We find lots of blocks and small trunks on the bottom where people dropped Christmas trees that rotted away every drawdown . I like stuff like Hardwood but Cedar with nothing small on them will work. We found stuff with heartwood lasts much longer . Most understand what I am talking about , heartwood is the darker center of older trees . Cedar trees have white sapwood and red heartwood on inside . The white rots off but the red stuff lasts way longer after the outer sap wood is gone . That is why a small (young Cedar )rots away so fast verses older bigger tree . Using a bigger tree we remove small limbs many times to speed up the process of thinning . ( Older tops have small stuff rot off making easier to fish in and allow fish to be able to swim through ) If you use Cedar Trees many let them dry off and drag down old gravel road to knock off the needles . Otherwise it takes much longer for them to naturally drop off and some actually moss over for awhile .

Bamboo holds fish and is fast way to build but for long term little bang for the buck .
