had a ski boat come by me 3 times in cove wide open third third time i pointed to the lake in the form of a birdie . he cam back and stopped 25 Ft from me i picked up my 22 cal. pistol and laid it in my lap . he was nice then and asked if i had a probable i told hem we were fishing and he had 8000 acors of lake to play in with one fishing . he said he was trying his boat out to see if his mechanic had it fixed . that is no excuse for what he was doing .he left and never returned .
that is when you need a tater gun.
retired and now i will always fish

    Default Boat wakes

I think most guys get confused by the word IDLE. If you slow your boat down to a fast idle, it causes the bow to rise and push a much bigger wake than if you run on by someone. I’d rather have another boater fly by me opposed to slowing down and creating a huge wake. If you slow down to a No Wake IDLE that’s fine. It’s the guys that slow down but still kick out a big wake that bother me. There’s two ways to go through a crowded area. NO WAKE idle, or run on plane at a safe distance.

That's what had happened to my Dad and I in the above story, the guy slowed way down, but was still putting out a huge wake so that was what almost took us out! Plus he came within about 25ft of us, I could have thrown my lure in his boat!

Many neophyte boaters think they're doing a good deed by 'slowing down'; not thinking about the huge wake they make. Just ignorance, not benevolence.
