Default The future of electronics in fishing

You may want to hold off buying your next electronics until you see this. The voted the best 2017, from Power Ray/Vision submersible fishing drone, that has a light, sonar or live feed, dives down past 100 feet, 4 hours running time, will even catch fish or carry your line bait to the fish while you control the drone coming out 2-27-17, check it out.

:Lets see how much they want for one first, I have not been able to find a price yet. It would never travel long distance If I had one on conway but I might try sending it down around a cypress tree or two.

    Pricing and Availability

PowerVision will make the PowerRay available for pre-sale on February 27, and plans to ship the drone in late April/early May. Pricing has yet to be finalized, but a company rep said it should be in the $2,000 to $3,000 range.

Not bad as bad as I thought it would be, way out of my league I got upset over losing a Alabama Rig once

Heck that is about what the more expensive boat electronics cost now. I know some crappie fisherman who dive before fishing tournaments on clearer lakes to see whats down there. This would even up the odds a little when seeing whats down there before we fish. I think it would be fun to own something like this with mobility and use it on clearer lakes like Greers, Ouachita, or Bulls Shoalls. I will put it on my wish list. There will be some crappie fisherman some where who will buy and try this thing. I guarantee ya.

I have an Aqua View camera with LED lights that I can hook up to my Lowrance Gen2 screen and in VERY clear lakes you can see a few feet in front of it, 4 or 5 feet, but you can see structure and fish but even in very clear fresh water lakes you can only see at the very best a few feet in front of it. I've actually used it in Lake Conway before and as I expected there is way too much particulate in the water to see more than a few inches literally. I also scuba dive and you can actually see farther diving than you can with a camera but don't be confused even in the clearest fresh water lakes you still can't see anything remotely like you can in the say the Caribbean where you can see fairly well to say a 100 feet. I hardly ever use my camera because it's too much of a pain to set up ect. for what you can see. I have used it before to try and identify what I was seeing on my graph that I couldn't tell what it was and have been surprised by certain types of microscopic plant life, I guess, that you could drag a jig through with no resistance and nothing comes up on your line or jig, but it was there. I would have sworn it was a ball of bait fish on my graph. Apart from that I think you'd be very disappointed with an under water camera.

Yep I would stick with the 360 for now, and let somebody else try this out first and write a review, unless of course you plan on moving to the Carribian

With the increasing technology and proficiency of anglers, angler harvest of harvest oriented species has got to be on the rise. It makes me ponder when this new technology crosses the line between being a useful tool to help anglers find fish and when it starts to lead to over exploitation of some species. It seems to me that we are on the verge of crossing this line in the near future and resource managers will have to make some hard decisions (probably not popular) to protect certain fisheries. I don't think that we have crossed this line yet, but I think that most resonable anglers will agree that it is on the horizon.
