Got to say I am impressed with he HB 360 with trolling motor transducer mount is almost unfair to the crappie. Your trolling along and can see brush piles, fish coming up and everything in front of you, makes finding your brush pile way points allot faster, and can troll from one spot to the next with no guess work or buoys. You know exactly when your poles are about to hit the brush pile. HB 360 is the real deal.

No doubt, prefer mine on the transom. Got a Helix 12 coming, bet it will really look good on it.

I have had a transom mount since they were first released. I plan to move to bow mount soon. I have 2 complaints about transom mount. My boat is 21.5' long. I use the unit while fishing up front so you have to remember the offset. The other thing is in shallow stumpy water you have to be careful. I planned to switch to bow mount this spring but there is a rumor that Humminbird will be changing the 360 to new mega imaging soon. I moving up to 15" Solix units but going to wait to see if they change the 360 to mega Imaging before I make the change.

If you use it to locate fish while running the big motor slow the transom mount is the ticket. We use ours while trolling or jig fishing so trolling motor is down. Like you mentioned great way to see what is ahead of you lets you adjust to troll over or hit spot lock and jig fish a submerged top.

They really shine in shallow water.

Bass fisherman in the YouTube but still shows the usefulness of 360 in shallow water.

I have had a bow mount for a couple years. First time on the water with it, I called my buddy and told him this thing should be illegal!! LOL
Of course I couldn't live without it now.

My new tourney partner makes a bracket or I should say a plate that let's you put the 360 unit on a Terrova or the Ultera. I'm getting a couple of Birds for using the GPS and Lakemaster card and a 360 up front on my Ultera. Gonna still run the Lowrance sonar and imaging on the 3 12's I have now.

My tourney partner Jeff said you can see your bait going into the brush piles and stake beds. Makes it easier to keep from getting hung up in them. He runs his in the 180 mode.

I'm interested in this also, I'm running an Ulterra. This was another reason for not already having a bow mount 360 unit. I like to set the 360 unit on 50' to 75' sweep range for the best images. I lose 22' of front scran due to unit being on transom.
