Default Tips for navigating Blue Mountain and Nimrod

I've been on Blue Mountain a couple of times with a buddy and never been on Nimrod at all. Every time I've been on Blue Mountain we have put in at Ashley Creek. I'm wanting to take my boat and do a little fishing but I have heard that Blue Mountain can be tricky to navigate. Is it pretty safe to take off out of Ashley and head over to Lick creek or back up into the Petit Jean? How about Nimrod? I've never been on it at all.

Both lakes have the channels marked with red and green nav buoys ... with that said Nimrod is @ 337 which is 5-6 feet below normal pool and there is a lot of stuff to bump in to!!! Put in at Carden Point is my suggestion. .

Blue is a little low as well at 383 (normal pool is 384).

    Both are good crappie lakes!!

Te couple of times I've been on Blue Mountain I've not really had a problem but I got a new boat and knowing my luck, that's when I'll find something under the water that I don't want to find

28DEC2016 1900 338.12 Nimrod is still down almost 4' from normal winter pool . Should be good in river channel . I don't know much about Blue Mtn , website shows it is a few inches below winter pool . Been told to watch for rocks over there . If you have navionics on your electronics , Nimrod is mapped
on there but don't think Blue Mtn Lake is .

I figured Ashley Creek might be tough to get out of.

Was at Blue Mtn duck hunting and it is super low right now. I would only run in the channels and idle the rest. I wouldnt run any where around persimmon point either ( the transition from lake to river) it is marked but there is lots of stuff in the middle of the channel. Hope the crappie bite is better than the ducks are!
