    Default Christmas Crappie


    We did our family Christmas on Friday so I had Christmas Eve and Christmas day wide open. I decided to go fishing and thought the warmer temps might turn them on. I was right. Fished the Arkansas River and had a blast. The size of fish is not what I'd prefer but they will taste great after a hot grease bath!

    nice mess of specks ! i went to Lake Hamilton yesterday after the Christmas thing. Caught 1 bass and my dog ! He bailed when i pulled the boat out . He caught a 1/16 crappie jig on a ultra light spining rod. Caught his collar , not hide. lol. you should have seen him dragging my rod up the boat ramp to the flat ground ! he actually acted proud like it was his !

    Oh goodness haha! I bet that was funny to watch. Good thing your pup didn't get the hook in him. My lab went camping with us last year on a private lake and while I was fishing in the boat I heard this loud breathing behind me and that sucker swam from the bank to my boat (about 500 yards). He couldn't stand not being on the water with us.
