When I got back into fishing in 2013 and bought a boat the 1st year or so I went almost exclusively to a small lake in Johnson County even though I usually didn't do too well. I hadn't been there in awhile but this am I decided to go there since I didn't have long to fish due to a granddaughter's birthday party and it was the closest water to me. Got there and first thing I saw was the lake had been drawn way down. That didn't improve my hopes much. Eased across the lake in the heavy fog to a couple brush piles I have fished before. Well lo and behold I had a pretty decent day. Had 10 in the live well and culled them down to 6 which is a good mess for us. I released another 10 os so all keepers except 2. Most were 10 to 11 inches.. Lost one that looked like it would have went 13 to 14. Caught another double today. They were in 15 to 20 fow 12 to 15 ft deep.

Sometimes it is good to be on a small lake without the crowds . Fall weather is great and catching fish just a bonus .![]()
Nice work

Glad you could get out and catch a mess. Fall fishing is great, most people are hunting, and the lakes aren't very crowded.
