Not sure you will get a lot of info on stripers? Maybe Lowepro will chime in and help you out. I know exactly where you speak of. Might want to switch to catching cats. You will be in one of the best areas for them that time of year. I will be down there last week of October but we will be using Goose Landing next to AR post canal to launch and strictly catfishing. Good luck on your trip sir. FYI no limit on catfish below Benzal Bridge.

You will catch cats and strippers at the sam e place. Depending on oxygen in the water and flow at the time you are there. Go to have a Good Time! And you will. Catching is a bonus.

Are you camping on east or west side. if east you won't be able to put a boat in. west side maybe but you have to watch out or you might launch but not be able to reload. when they shut the water off it falls rapidly. if you go down river you might have trouble coming back up. been there, done that. As far as stripers, mostly white bass and a few hybrids. Stripers aren't all that regular. Catch 50 whites and you might get 2-3 stripers. whites are often good sizes. 3/4 ounce spoons and little George type baits work and you can cast them a long way. 17 pound test on a good baitcaster works. Find places where the current runs through the wing dams and you will find them stacked up/I see a few folks throwing tandem rigged twister tails on 1/4 lead heads. even saw a guy with 5 jigs catching them 5 at a time. more on a pm so as to not rile up crappie fishermen.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
