    Default Crankin on Nimrod

Size: 63.4 KBspent another Saturday pushing crank baits on Nimrod. Great day bite was a little slow but still managed 50 or so. I have a question about the Arkie cranks versus Bandits. Has anyone out there used the Arkie cranks? Love the new colors but there seems to be a different set of rattles and the wobble of the bait is very different than the Bandits. Has anyone out there had any success with the new baits? Any input would be appreciated. Also took a drive around lake and up river to check out the newly revealed structure since the draw down. BE CAREFUL there are a lot of new hazards out there so be careful as you enjoy this awesome lake. Oh yea bass like crank baits too

Those Arkies are good baits. The different sound and wobble I think makes a big difference. Especially where they have seen mostly Bandits. They run true out of the package and a bunch of great color's.

Yes, these are a different set of rattles. You might describe it as a clunking and singing rattle? Makes two kinds of noises, at the same time!
Experience has taught me that fish learn how to become accustomed to a specific noise. This bait makes two sounds..... a little harder for them to remember? Maybe?
The action of the bait is Unique to this bait. It was never intended to replicate, imitate or copy anybody other bait.
The Arkie bait is it's own, stand alone bait. Fish will tend to key in on different actions on any given day, so I surely won't profess it to be the only bait you'll ever need, but i can assure you its a viable option to have around. A little checking on this site will confirm the success others have with it. Might even try to enter and win some freebies in the contest http://www.crappie.com/crappie/contests-win-free-stuff/

    Thanks for asking about them!

I have only one experience with Arkie's on a trip to Grenada last week. I fished them along with some Bandits. I fished several different colors of each and found the Arkie orange and black out did everything. I was impressed and will continue to purchase Arkies in the future. DP

I was out there yesterday, part of a kayak tournament. First and last of that nonsense for me. I caught some fish, but stayed out there way too long.

I caught several dink bass, one bream, a couple of dink crappie, and a nice channel cat. But I will say that putting in at Carden Point and paddling clea across the lake, just to get started ...sucks.
