The only reason for the minnows is for night fishing under lights. The jig just don't do as good for me. I'm gonna get a little gill net to hang out with the light, and get my own minnows.

My question is Where is here? Grenada Lake or Cherokee Village? About three or four weeks ago my nephew and I were at Grenada. That Gas Station/Bait Shop right there by 330 scenic loop before you head to Grenada Landing was selling them for 14 bucks a pound for any size you wanted. We got some of there small minnows and heck I thought about filleting some of them. I didn't realize them folks down there fish with big shiners like we used to do in Florida for bass. On the back side of Grenada lake just down from the road that goes to Choctaw landing, there is a country store/gas station that was selling minnows for 2 bucks a dozen. Here locally in Jonesboro, they are 2 bucks a dozen plus tax at the station on Hwy 1 towards Harrisburg.

As for fishing with minnows or just jigs, it makes me no never mind which way we fish as long as we are fishing! I was raised single poling with just jigs and my Dad and his fishing buddy wouldn't fish with anything except black and Chartreuse tube jigs. We always did alright, but since I started fishing with some other folks and they used minnows, I kinda got used to it, so like others on here, I don't leave the bank or dock without some minnows in my Engel bait cooler.

I'm referring to Cherokee Village, Hardy, Mountain Home, Norfork Lake area. Yea at Grenada the Three Way Bait Shop has a very good count.
