Default Bite is on at Nimrod

Went by Nimrod on Monday to check water level since draw down has started. Man water looked great. The water had about 18" visibility and was about 3' lower than normal. Spent most of afternoon walking bank with kids picking up treasure! Found about 30$ worth of crank baits thanks to the green carp fisherman. The ramp at Carter Cove and the dam will be closed starting today and the only ramps that will be open will be Anderson Branch and Carden Point. Saw 3 local fisherman who had each filled a cooler with nice crappie. THE BITE IS ON !!!!!!!! I will be there this week to stock the freezer. Good luck to all

Most locals don't fish weekends and hoildays over there . Stumps gonna educate a few so better take it slow . Part of the lake is clear and some down right muddy . Did you find any arrowheads on the bank ?

Drove by on the way to and from Little Rock today , not many on the lake today . Sure looked pitiful at the cleaning station when I stopped to look with folks cleaning Bream and most of the Crappie were smaller than the Bream . Several caught a few Catfish on trotlines over the weekend . Please take care launching and motoring around with low water . Guess I need to go back over to the big ''D'' and help CP with the honey hole over there .

Better be careful that mud is quite deep in some spots . Drove by this afternoon but saw no ramps closed yet .

Spoke to a local buddy of mine yesterday and he caught a double limit by 10:45 yesterday. I guess folks must not be holding their mouth right. LOL The best color was electric chicken tipped with a minnow about 6' deep over brush up river near sunlight bay. Caught a few fish in the main river but not many. Look for brush piles in about 10' of water he said worked the best.
