If I get to a point where I a making these for sale I will let you know, or if there are changes in design needed you may just get to field test one for me, as one of the members here has agreed to do to help me make the best fillet knife I possibly can. Because this is my design I really want to get it just right. Thank you for the compliment.

You got a deal! Let me know if you need a field tester. I'll bring it to work and I grantee it will be put through a serious workout!

That is a beautiful knife. Not being a knife maker, I would think a fillet knife would be the hardest to make just because of the thinner blade. It all looks great.

    Thanks for the comments everyone.
RCC, you are correct about a fillet knife being a challenge. The way I do it the profile is cut out and then the steel gets heat treated. In the heat treat process I set the inside of the steel up for toughness and durability. Then harden and temper it. After its hardened the bevels and taper is ground on a 2"x72" belt grinder. This is where the difficulties are, grinding builds heat and if the steel turns any color the temper is ruined. Also keeping everything straight and setting it up to flex evenly. I spend 3-4 times the amount of time at the grinder on a fillet knife as I do a forged hunter.

I'm impressed! I know there was a lot of hours put into that.
