Default Help choosing a new Sonar........ Undesided and confused with what to purchase!

I can help with the Lowrance units. Not an expert, but Lowrance is all I've used for decades.

I'm running two 12" touch units with the new 3D structure scan now. The new 2D Hi Def structure scan in the 3D unit is KILLER. the piezo's have been re positioned and will shout out to 120' clearly in 12' of water. It's the bomb for shallower water applications.

All of these side image machines (all 3 major brands) work really great in CLEAR water. They aren't what you think in extremely muddy, shallow water tho.

The gen 2's are nice units, but they will not ungraded to the 3D structure scan. Must have gen 3's for that.

After playing a bit today with the new boat and electronics, I can safely say I like the Helix 10 SI and the networking capabilities between the Helix units. I have a 999 SI on my Crappie Magnum, but the Helix 10's on my xpress H20pfc are the cats meow.
