    Default SUPER MAGNUMS 4/5/16

Took a day trip across the mighty Mississippi with my step-dad's uncle! He had been seeing some pictures of some huge crappie and asked if I thought I could put him on some! I Thot heck.....I sure would love to try!!! We went out and scanned for hours and never saw a fish. Found a very small creek and put out the spider rig and was going to troll up the creek. As soon as we put the very first pole in the water BAMB!!!!! It was a 2.88 pounder!!!! Man Uncle Dwayne was pumped! At that time we were in 8FOW. We trolled up the creek and picked up several more that were ALL short! So we abandoned them and went back to the main lake in search of some big girls. Finally found them in 11-14FOW and fishing 3-5 feet deep. They wanted the bait going 0.7mph and the East wind was KILLER on the main lake. We caught a lot of fish but didn't just bring home the keepers like we wanted! But was plenty of action to keep us there. We fished a while longer and BAMB!!!!! Another big mama. She tipped the scales at 2.99lbs!!!! So close I couldn't believe it! She was one gizzard shad n her gut from going 3! Oh well She is definitely a wall worthy fish! The other big mama was released to swim again, but I'm calling the 2.99 a 3 and putting her on a root wad!!!!! We had several more keepers but did not get to take a final pic because it was almost 10pm before we got back home. It seemed like the fish were either 10.5 inches or less or 15 inches or more. There was nothing in between! So some slabs we definitely did find! Was an awesome trip and can't wait to go back!!!![IMG][/IMG]
