The wind made it very hard to fish past around 11 a.m. We got back out on the lake around 4 p.m. or so. Water temp WAS 61-62 degrees on Friday and Saturday, but had dropped to 55-58 degrees by Monday and Tuesday. Some fish were shallow and were caught casting, but most were caught vertical jigging over brush tops in 16-12 fow. We caught lots of scrapers that mostly got put back, but some went into the live on Saturday because that's the day we had planned our fish fry supper. It worked out well. I would rather eat smaller filets anyway.

I've seen your pics and you definitely know how to get it going too! Your son is gonna be a deadly crappie fisherman when he grows up too! Just wait until he's big enough to grab the keys and back you into the lake and then get behind the drivers seat and drive the boat. That time is here for me now. I'm so used to doing it myself, I gotta let go and let him do it. Kids are gonna grow up......

Like the way you hold your fish. Some have out stretched arms to make the fish much larger. Nice catch!!!!!

He's 16 and I've had him driving for a couple of years now. He thinks he's an old pro already. Dad gave him his 1990 GMC stepside and John has hit the streets in full vigor. You can hear him coming from a mile way......woofers bumping and tailpipes racking off, but he's safe. He's a good boy.

He was working at Sonic here in Camden until last week when his boss wouldn't let him off for a weight lifting meet at school. I asked him if he needed me to call his boss and he wouldn't let me......said he wanted to handle it himself. He went to the weight lifting meet and placed 3rd, then went to Sonic and quit (and probably told her off), then went for an interview at Brookshire's and was hired the next day. Can't keep a good man down!

You probably saw the football pics I posted last year, but here's another of him doing what he does best. He's an all around good ole country boy, but he is a dirty mean player on the football field. #79 in white. 2 year letterman already and just completed his 10th grade season last November.

    GTT

Those are some beautiful fish and a fine looking young man. Great to have a partner that you trained isn't it? I bet that fish fry was beyond compare. Congrats on boating those big ole fish. I just need to catch about 6 like that.

Man he is a BIG OLE BOY! I bet a straight animal on the field! Seems like a good boy. I remember the loud radio days and glass packs. Funny how things change when ya get older. Very good he had his priorities in line with the job. Very important to not let work control ur life, especially when u got family. The is always other opportunities.
