I dabble at making knives. I have many friends that are maker that will have tables. This is a great show with some of the world's best makers.
I think the cutting competition is a great chance to see what these knives are capable of. Also there will be a knife sharpening demonstration by Bill Carlile @ 10:00 at the Historic Arkansas Museum. Bill is a professional knife sharpener that gets to work on high end custom kitchen knives for chefs. Some of the knives are family heirlooms passed down from one sushi chef to another. Feel free to shoot me a PM I can meet you and introduce you to some outstanding makers and interesting folks.
Here are a couple I have made. The filet knife has been shown here before. The other is a Bird and Trout style hunter I forged from my own Damascus with wrought iron fittings from a wagon hitch from the late 1800's.
