All I can tell you is with you being on the Cherokee side you better not get caught fishing on the Choctaw side. The Choctaw tribe doesn't take kindly to trespasser these days and scalping is making a come back.
I have been lurking in the shadows of this website for quite some time. Just now getting around to making my first post. The Mrs. and I recently purchased some property in the Cherokee Park area of Greers Ferry, and we are moving our base of operation from the Oxbows of East Arkansas to the Mountains. We have gotten tired of skeeters and flood waters. I am looking for information on what the fishing is like on that side of the lake. I have read several old post about the Choctaw side of the lake, but I can't seem to find any old post about the Cherokee side of the lake. Any information is greatly appreciated.

I made a three day trip down there for the first time back in October or September forgot now.I was prospecting for a possible retirement place myself. From what I ascertained on here and from people I spoke to down there....the crappie fishing is a precision game right now because numbers are down.Fish to be caught but have to do it right in the right places. I was sightseeing and playing around but fished about 4 hrs a day. Caught about 75 to 100 spotted and smallmouth bass. I had a blast and I'm going back when I get a chance. I would do exactly like Nimrod said and contact creekslick. But you can have some fun catching those bass on light tackle. A lot of them will be 12" to 15" but spots and smallies on light tackle is a hoot in my book and something to catch while your looking for crappie.
Cherokee a good place to fish lots of small feeder creeks.Watch the wind can get bad (big wide open part of the lake) in a hurry.Have seen Ranger Bass boats swamped in this area.Be Safe watch the wind out of the south or south west go to some other part of the lake.Wear your life jacket/kill switch. Good safe fishing. This time of year winter real clear can see a white jig 10' deep.Very hard for most fishermen to fish deep(50')100 ft in some places clear water, light line 2-4 lb test fish are usually close to the 20' except in spring( Spawn) Good safe fishing.
