    Default Flood Gates

We only moved to Fayetteville in 2012 and had never been to the Beaver Lake Dam area. This morning we decided to make the drive and take in the sites. We visited with a Corp of Engineer employee at the dam and he informed us that the flood gates were opened to the 9 foot level. However, due to all the flooding down river they were going to reduce them this afternoon to 5 foot. It was awesome to see that kind of force coming through the dam. (Over a half of a million gallons of water per second) 24 hours ago the lake had reached near record levels, with massive out flows of water, the levels have gone down almost 2 feet over the recent 18 hours. While Beaver has began to recede - all the other White River reservoirs continue to rise. Usually this is a great time to fish Beaver Lake (not this year). Who knows when we will have average or below water levels.

My dad lives bout 10 miles down stream, it is a disaster every time this happens. Takes months to clean up.

Lived up there from 85 to 90 and never saw it like that, quite a sight.
