That'll work. I only caught 4 over the weekend but they made for 2lbs of fillets. Cooked them last night now going home for lunch to finish them off. Worth every minute of my fishing time. Mmm good. Good job, and never give up.
Went there yesterday (22 Dec). Fished 4 hours and never got a bite. I have bass fished there but never fished for crappie. I installed my Humminbird 988 and had a good time checking out the underwater view. I saw lots of good looking stuff but no luck. With a little over an hour left I went to Conway and caught 3 keepers before dark. I cooked them up for the wife & I at lunch. Had a side of red beans & rice to go with it. It was a good lunch.

Was at brewer yesterday afternoon. First pile we went to, doubled up on a jumbo crappie and a Kentucky. The first 2 minutes we were there. Only caught 1 bass the rest of the day. This was after we spent to morning on atkins with no bites.
I know they were biting just finding them and being there when they are ready . I caught 11 in first hour and not a Crappie for well over 2 hours then finished a limit yesterday. Just because you don't catch fish all day long or at all does'nt always mean the fish are not biting . Every lake is different as every day can change when , where , and how the bite is . Sometimes they can be moody and go through lulls then bite like crazy. Don't give up try try again and don't be quick to throw in the towel .

Ole nimrod attit again. Specials i assume?
I didn't count the hour I zigged & zagged back and fourth looking for my buoys. I had tossed them out to mark some brush & noticed I didn't have enough line to reach the bottom. After digging around & finding some line & putting that on I looked up & the wind had blown me out of sight of my buoys. I might have been able to see them better but they are 20 years old and faded. I keep them for stealth marking when eye's are watching. Looking back I could have used blaze orange markers but then someone would have come back to that spot and loaded the boat with my luck.

I was talking about not enough line on my jig pole. You only need 12' of line for Conway. 6' for fishing & 6' for retying throughout the day. Just wasn't enough to reach the brush piles on Brewer. I know crappie like to feed up but with such a short line they would have had a nose bleed coming up that far to eat my jig.
