O well. Guess the duck hunters need grassy flooded.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news...
Matt opened 5 gates on Lake Conway this afternoon to draw the lake down to the winter pool of 262'. Currently the lake is about 8/10s a foot (262.8') above winter pool. It is hard to predict how long the gates will be open with the amount of rain they are predicting. Hopefully we will have to lake down to 262' by next weekend.
Hopefully one of these days we will have a weir spillway and we will be able to keep the lake st 263' year around.

No big deal, it has to be done. I loaded up and went home after I saw Matt opening the gates. Fried up a couple of backstraps and smothered them with some homemade gravy! Good stuff!
Did you and Jacob catch a few?

All gates but one (Bell Slough gate) are closed. The lake may rise a little due to runoff but hopefully the water level and the fishing will stabilize.

drawdown sucked all the crappie out the pool back in to the main lake, so no use in anyone going there for at least 2-3 weeks :o
