Typical Conway report. Im sure somebody waxed em!
There is a LOT of small fish this year!! I mean 5-7 inches! Caught probably 30-40 today only a handful of keepers. Probably 10-15 boats, lot of folks zeroed on keepers.

I had 3 keepers, missed 4 keepers hung in the pads and caught bout 40 or so 5/6 inchers like sarge. one guy from Benton who started about 7 and fished till around 4:30ish had 22 keepers, 17 caught by 9:30. I was in a small John with a 15 hp merc and fishing from the front with a red seat.

I was there Weds too. I must have caught at least 30-40 short fish. I did manage 2 keepers. I got there a little after 9 and didn't have much luck until after lunchtime. That's when it seemed like a dink on every cast. I was fishing jigs and it looked like everyone else was using a minnow to tip a jig or just the minnow by itself. I don't think I even own a minnow bucket. Nothing against it just not my favorite way to fish. I like to fool them but looks like the fish fooled me. But hey that's fishing.

We're gonna need a district 10 explanation of the dinks in the pool
I'm no D10, but my thoughts are: Most lakes experienced a lengthy high water spring that coincided with the spawn. Think we're seeing the effects of that, plus water temps still a little warm. Smaller fish generally move before larger fish and smaller fish are generally more active/aggressive/easier to fool than larger fish. I bet folks will be seeing the larger fish soon.
Simple. We had a great spawn this year and as MNJ said, they move in first.
