Overcup is in D10's district, (District 10.) He can answer better than I, but I think that there were levee issues in the past that contributed to the low water levels and draw downs. Not sure about the winter level. Matt will chime in soon.
Fished Overcup for the last couple of hours of daylight yesterday 5:30-7:00. Picked up 6 fish along the west end of the lake on Midsouth white/chart on 1/8oz jig head fished "Nimrod style" (jighead inserted into the tube). Lots of baitfish along that area stretching from the rip rap bank all the way out to the boat lane. (Also, lots of really nice bass using that area right now).
My questions are ? Does that lake have a winter pool draw down ? What is the pool level now ? If it does have a draw down, when does that usually happen ? I have slept many moons since last being on that lake, but I think I remember that lake having way more visible stumps and stick ups than what it looks like now.
Anyone know if this lake is on D10's watch ? Maybe I should PM him ?

I sure wish the lake was just about a foot lower. I love jigging the stumps in the Summer when it is down.

No drawdown on winter draw down on Overcup. The lake is about 6" - 12" inches lower than normal pool. At one time in recent years, the lake was held about 6" lower for normal pool. Higher pool elevation = more fish production.
