    Here is another question.

How the heck do you keep dirt dobbers from building mud nests under the engine cowling? We have this problem with all of our work boats? Any good ideas?

    Default Dumb Boat Question?

I keep mine trimmed up winter and summer. Ice only breaks a sealed container that is fairly full. Won't hurt a thing if it freezes up. The ice will expand out the way the water came in. Nothing to put pressure on it. Mine stays covered outside year round.

My concern was the water in the water line and impeller housing. It does not always drain out in the up position. I leave mine down just to be safe in winter. Course then I forget to trim it up when I pull it out and plow a furrow in my drive way.

You could tape over the end of the prop if its going to sit outside in the winter. That blue painters tape doesnt leave a sticky mess when you pull it off.
