The pipe that lets water in from the river is broken and not allowing the lake to fill. The farmer that used to control the pipe wanted the water lower so as not to mess with his fields. A few years ago, ADC bought it and I was told they were going to fix the pipe and allow the lake to fill back up but that has yet to happen so you can't get up in the willow trees and cover around the edges. However, there are folks around here that still catch crappie in the lake, especially using yo-yo's tied on cane poles stuck in the mud. They can still be caught in the middle trolling around but last summer the water level was pretty low, easy to run motor foot in mud on bottom. High river levels along with heavy local rains will cause it to come up again, happened few years back, fishing was phenomenal.
I give them all lockjaw. If you see me there, they're probably not biting.
