    Default Boat upgrade question

Need some advice. I'm looking to get a bigger boat to take the family 5 total, wife and I, an 8 yr old, and twin 4 yr olds. Most of our fishing is at norfork and Sardis. Do like to go to horseshoe every once in a while though too. Any suggestions on a size or style to carry 5 people? I was thinking along the lines of a fish and ski maybe. I ll be looking for a used boat. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated It'll probably be April before I buy but looking for some guidance. I've never had more than a 15' Jon boat.

Pontoon! It will ruin you. Room to walk around shade etc. Everyone who fishes on mine goes and buys one.

Jbrewer, I think it depends on what you are gonna do with it in the summer time with the family. Many boats will adapt to fishing, but not all boats will adapt to skiing, tubing, etc.
I have an 18 X 60 Triton Aluminum with a 70 Suzuki on it. I fish out of it and when we go to the lake it is great for pulling a tube or something similar. I carry up to 6 in it for transporting across the lake to the cliffs or across the river to the sandbar.
That's just my .02 for what it's worth.

I agree with pesce. A DeepV or pontoon would be most practical. Just remember before you get the boat paid for them 4 year olds gonna be big. Look down the road at what you will need 3-4 years from now

    Default Boat upgrade question

The toon will be harder to fish with other than open water fishing. Also harder to tow around. The fish n ski might suit your needs better. Deep V's are nice, but it best to take your family around to some shops and Get In a few different models and get a feel for what YOU like. Nobody can pick a boat for YOU and YOUR needs. I suggest going to some of the Boat Shows that will be coming up in the next few months. You can see all the different boat styles in one place that way. Really is a bonus to try them all and pick what's best for you and your family's needs.

Call or contact me if I can help in ANY way.

An Excel 1860vsc is NOT what you need for 5 people.

A Ranger 619, 620, or 621 would be an excellent choice.
