Default Chilly Afternoon in the Pool

Matt and I snuck out to the pool for a couple of hours this afternoon. We manages to only boat 9. Matt caught 6 good ones before I even got my first good bite. He was using a 1/16 pink jig head and an electric chicken scent wiggler, and they were hammering it! By the time I retied my jig to match his, that bite was done. I ended up picking up the last three fish before the chill crept in and we left. Matt really likes the scent wiggler and I have been getting more confidence in it too. Matt's biggest fish was just shy of two pounds and was barely over 12 inches long. It had the thickness and body of a 2.5 pounder but it was a short feller. Nice catch Matt and Matt. Nine for the day isn't bad at all. Wish I was fishing instead of working.

I am always amazed at the weight on those Conway fish. We caught some blacks out of there and they would be 12 1/2 or 13 inches and weigh around 1.6. Up here you catch a 14 or 14.5 fish and it will be 1.25.

Good job on the nice mess of fish.
