I caught some off of a brush pile next to that pontoon boat in the bottom picture Tuesday.
Went to the POOL this afternoon ... One other boat and very slow to nonexistent action. The Pelicans have made a return in force !!!! Here is a short video of the last 75 yards of the POOL heading toward the walking bridge. The place is packed with shad !!!!
What water temp has to be reached to get things rolling in there???

pleny of shad for sure just not very many crappie in there this year worst year ive ever seen in 15 yrs , needs to get allot colder and stay that way for a while and still not sure thats going to help, there are plces that i have fished over the years that the crappie for what ever reason just quit using, hope this is not the case, only time will tell, ive only caught a few limits there this year, 10-15 is about as good as i have done in last few trips and most anglers are going home empty handed, hopefully when water temps get into the thirties the fish will make a move if not its going to be a long winter in the pool!

Went Wednesday and caught 10 all day, went yesterday and caught 13. I believe the lack of alligator grass and the years of extreme pressure has taken its toll.
Nice Pics...

Will the water treatment plant closing this summer that fed millions of gallons of water and nutrients into Lake Conway potentially effect movement or migration of the Crappie??? .... Not a easy answer but just thinking
It was a wastewater plant effluent that fed through stone dam creek. It added tons of nutrients to the lake and it is my opinion that it will effect the lake. The feeder creek is dry now and hasn't been dry for thirty something years. This plant fed on average 4 million gallons a day of effluent water with ammonia concentrations. I doubt that the coves low number of fish are related to this plant since it only went offline in September. Time will tell.

Just noticed that you had your temperature showing twice on your sonar. You do know that you can go into settings and get that to show other stuff like one temp tab and one gps coordinate tab so we can know exactly where you are.
Just messing with you dude. Neat video.

I have had a great year in the pool with good catches starting the last two weeks Sept. I can't tell ya how many limits i have pulled out of there this year. I think the pattern has changed. Right now with so many shad a crappie just has to open his mouth and he's got one. Dec is always pretty slow up there it will pick up again soon. When that cold hits and kills some shad off it will get even better. The pool can be really tuff on ya this time of year if you don't fish it much.
