    Default .22 long rifle

Just picked IP a case for 200+ tax at DNW. The federal trailer is there this weekend. First bulk ammo in a while around here other than the stuff going for 50-100 at gun shops and pawn shops.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.

At DNW Outdoors in Jonesboro. Limit of one case(10, 500 rd bricks) per customer. I guess if you want more you could go back later.

Just trying to relate that to small purchases. So 10 Bricks $200 or $20 per brick of 500. If my math is right that is 4 cents each, correct. then the 375 round packs should be around $15. I think I paid $20 for 375 earlier this year. Glad they are coming back down, used to be 1 cent a round. Course gas was less than a dollar once upon a time too.

Lordy Searay, when I was a kid the Western Auto would have a coupon for their 22 shorts for a dime a box, limit 5. Back then a case had 20 brick, same as shotgun shells. I had 9 cases before I bought my first rifle.

I am not sure we have gotten better as a nation. Growing up, for as far back as I can remember, my older brother's Winchester Model 69 22 rifle stood behind the door in my bedroom and my Dad's 12 gauge was behind the door in their bedroom, plus he had a S&W 38 Special that he kept in our small country grocery. I knew where all these were as well as the ammo for them and it never once occurred to me to use any of them until I was old enough to do so responsibly. I would venture to say all my friends houses were similar and not once, not ever, was there an incidence of gun violence.
We sold the 22 and 12 gauge ammo in our store and I'm sure back them it was really cheap, like you said, I just don't remember exactly how much. I remember pumping gas at 25 cents a gallon and Cokes were 5 cents, plus bottle deposit of 1 cent.
What happened? I guess Forrest Gump was right. $h!T Happens.

Wife is getting me a 22 cal air rifle for Christmas, I've already picked it out but she said I can't have it until Christmas. I figure dad has 2 22's and you can't find ammo very easy, the air gun should be a little bit quieter than a regular 22 allowing more squirrel picking off. Oh and the fact this ones rated at like 1100fps helps too, Benjamin nitro piston2 at Academy, on sale now for just under $200.

They are hit and miss around here. Can run $13 to $16 per 100 pack at the LGS. You know where I won't buy them.
At walmart, you got to catch them as they are being stocked.
