    Default Foggy Morning Chasing Crappie

I hit the water at daylight this morning to be greeted with dense fog on Nimrod. A slow idle got us where we were planning to go after getting the boat stuck in the mud. First thing off the bat the trolling motor rope broke. Shawn and I then began to put the rods out and find a reel missing a handle. Guess the ride in the rod holder was to rough. Robbed one and began to bait and realize that we asked for a pound and half of minnow and maybe got a half pound. Crappie fishing was decent with catching 18 nice crappie by mid morning when we ran out of bait. As I was packing up I shut my jig pole in the rod locker and snap, the tip broke. Seems everything went wrong that could. Didn't get any fish pics today due to frustration. One good note is the leaves are starting to change and the colors are awesome.

Some mornings can make you wonder why, but then the fog clears. Good job hanging in there/)

Great pictures. Sorry you had some difficulty, but it does happen from time to time.

Good job, guys, under some pretty exasperating circumstances! I've had days like that. You just have to hang in there!

That sounds about like one of my camping trips. Was that a giant maple tree? I haven't seen many other species of trees turning colors around the house.

Be glad it was just mud cause those stumps can wreck a prop or even a lower unit. That lake can be hazardous to run at low pool. It sounds like you did OK. Bad enough for those unfamiliar with the lake but fog makes navigation risky.
