Congrats Greg!!! I have met to many to name and fished with several as well. The information from the site has made me a much better fisherman with several different techniques than I never would have dreamed of. The different lakes that Ive fished that I would not have fished if not for the site and the people on it. I do have to point out the one negative per my wife and thats all the money you people have made me spend.

To be honest I am not a very good fisherman... I'd like to think great dad, husband, hunter or friend, but a lousy fisherman. I read this forum to learn and steal ideas from guys that know how to get it done. I enjoy the stories I read and even reconnected with a retired friend of mine through the Arkansas Army National Guard. This forum has a lot of great information for someone that will use it... I think I like tinkering with my old boat more... I may be the only guy on here that made 2 dozen of the homemade "blackswans" and has yet to pull a fish off one.. its a sad story... my brother is more unlucky than I am with it..

But I reallly do enjoy the blogs on here..

Congratulations on 2k posts. Even though we've met a time or two, I don't really know you that well. I do know that you can manage to catch some stringers of big fish. Crappie.com has been a great place to hang out and learn about fishing. I have met lots of the people who post on the AR board regularly and I haven't met a bad person yet. I have only fished with 2 of the members on here and they are Nimrod, and Midsouth Man. I can vouch for both of these guys that they are top notch fisherman and helped me and many others to become a better fishermen. Hope to continue this post soon...

Even though I haven't fished with many, I have been able to meet and enjoy the company of several of the members during the camps. In my opinion, there is not a better, friendlier, knowledgeable about fishing, group of people, anywhere in the country. While we all sometimes have our differences, which I think are sometimes exaggerated by text communication only, at the end of the day when things are understood, there are no hard feelings. So, in many ways, this bunch of "strangers" that have met through crappie.com, are more like a big family. It was not too long ago that someone on another forum posted a statement that sounded somewhat derogatory toward me. One of the members here quickly posted and "had my back" in a heart beat. This member had no reason to risk his reputation or credibility standing up for me, but he did it anyway. This just speaks as to the quality of people who frequent this part of the internet. Greg offering to give away a rod tells you something about himself. How this should work is that we should be taking up a collection and buying him a rod for reaching post 2000. Honestly though, how many times has this been done on the AR board? It seems that just every once in awhile, someone just posts up and says "I wanna give away X". I read the other forums and don't see this happening there. Yes, you can lurk and learn how to catch a fish, but there is much more to the AR board than just catching a fish. That's why this place is so special and makes me want to check back everyday to see what people are thinking, or purchasing, or catching. When it does come down to fishing, if I wanted to pick a dream team of fishermen, I would never need to pick someone out of the state to compete for the the best Single poler, or spider rigger, or long liner, or cranker cause in this state we have some of the best fishermen in the land and they have the trophies and tailgates to prove it. So Greg, congratulation on 2,000 gooduns and hope to see many, many more.

I was on the golden pond late one evening right after I joined CDC, not catching anything but was enjoying watching two boats wearin em out in the back corner of the cove. Later back at Dano's a tall guy introduced himself to me , helped me load up and clear the ramp and then told me how you and him were catching all those fish....it was Crappie Pro of course. Congrats. I have enjoyed your posts and your fishing.....my best mess at Conway is 13. But I'm getting better. Thanks to guys like you on CDC

I am brand new to this site, I have not met anyone officially in person, but I have acquired a ton of helpful info from alot of different people. This site has increased my knowledge of different crappie tactics 100x fold, and I look forward to continuing my education, passing on the info that I know, and promoting the outdoors!

Congrats on the 2000. It couldn't happen to a better person. Since 50% of those post are with pics and good advice I feel that is what Crappie.Com is all about. I joined July 2010 and yes "lurked" for 2 months. Being from NEA not many reports came from up here but you guys in Central AR were killing me. Some guy kept talking about Crappie-palloza in the winter. Well after a few more months I decided that I had to go to this lake called Conway. I was so excited that I got there 2 hours before sunrise and 8 trailers had put in. Dano was nice enough to tell me how to get to the "pool" and be careful. As the sun came up in the back of the pool I met a man that was throwing corks but no minnow. I came up to his side and asked him what technique he was using. As he looked at me with those thick glasses he said jig under a cork. Now unlike a lot of you x-bass fisherman I have crappie fished my whole life from slip cork minnows in Sardis buckbrush to pullin Bombers behind pontoons at Tunica cut-off. I never fished a jig under a cork. You see I can some what fish I just need a new technique. Thanks Russ. On another trip to Conway this guy showed me that if you pull the gator grass away from the cypress a little and come back you will catch a crappie there. Go figure. So all you minnows that strive to reach the ranks of a 2 star, pay close attention to what you read on Crappie.com and someone tells you on the water. They do want you to catch fish.

My dad said that if you have 6 people to carry you when you pass you did good. I think I could scrounge up a few.
Although I dont fish in Central were all the action is I have made it to all the camps. Most that have met me know me well. I am not the shy type and like to have fun. I will say that RCC was my first at a little lake up here called Poinsett.I have made some great friends up here in Coolerful, arkcrappie, Handi and my partner in crime Hawgdawg. And as he mentioned we had a great time fishing with them MS fruit jars this year and he is a great friend and father.
Now I met Greg at camp 2 years ago and got to talk fishing a little. Just a little quiet but hey I am a flat lander and he probably didnt know how to take it. I have enjoyed his post and wish I had more opportunity to fish with him.
I have fished with and met the first generation of .commers and look forward to the next.
    Thanks again!
Ed, Billbob, Hawgdawg, arkcrappie, coolerful, Handi, memphislab, broharrel,BRM, ABH, Bob, Nimrod, Russ, Ski, DP,Dave, and all you MS guys. You have helped me change the way I think about fishing.
