Default Greeson Brush Pile info (Did I dream this?)

Thinking (hard) about going camping at Lake Greeson next week.

Did I dream this, or didn't someone.......maybe a Kirby HS FFA teacher(????) or someone.....post a ton of GPS coordinates for brush tops on Lake Greeson here......about 1, 2, 3 years ago??? Can't remember.

I swear I made a file of them, but can't find it.......

    Thanks.

Default Brush Pile Coordinates on Arkansas Lakes
The AGFC has been developing an interactive map on the website AGFC GIS Mapper 2.0. To find the coordinates of brush piles that the AGFC was involved in placing, follow these steps:
    1) go to AGFC GIS Mapper 2.0
    2) zoom in to what ever lake you are interested in
    3) click on the hammer symbol at the top of the map "miscellanious tools"
    4) click on GPS/GPX communicator
    5) if you use a Garmin GPS skip to 6a, to upload a .gpx file to a mapping program such as Mapsource, skip to 6b

6a) click detect GPS and follow the instructions

6b) to the right of the GPX file, click the piece of paper with a blue arrow
7b) save this file to your computer
8b) open this file with a mapping program such as Mapsource

You use to be able to go to action fishing trips guide service and they would give you a copy of the way points. You can also buy a map with way points at the state park. Good luck.

I've stumbled around on the AGFC website and found a map of a few, opened with Google Earth, and am copying down a few coordinates in the area of the campsite. Enough to fish a few of 'em, I guess.

My antiquated LMS 337C only wants 'em in decimal format, so now I have to go convert 'em all. It's nice they show 'em to me, it'd be nicer if I could print out a list.

Oh, and it's raining at Nimrod again, according to Intellicast. That's the only thing keeping me from camping there........just too unstable now. Can't depend on it staying put!

    Hey Bill,
Agrihawg on here and his agri class built a ton of crappie condos and put them in Degray. Not sure if they put any in Greeson. Might pm Agrihawg and see if that's what you were thinking about. Just a thought.

Ski, yeah I finally remembered that and PM'ed him.

What's funny........I took the AGFC website, downloaded the Greeson GPX file, opened it in Google Earth....and put the cursor on a couple of pinpoints/tops. I wrote down the GPS coordinates of each.

First two I wrote down (no errors), I put in Google (not Earth) Map, and it came up about 400 yards UP ON LAND!!! Ha.

So....I may have to just drive around. My b/d is in two weeks. Sure wish J. Paul Ghetty or someone would give me a neat SI depthfinder!!!

Go to agfc website, click on resources, then click on maps, then click on downloadable map files for google earth and gps units, then click on greeson lake fish structures. this will download 858 waypoints in .gpx format that you can then load into your gps unit.
