Good looking fish and at that size still a decent mess of fish. Were yall on lower or upper lake? I tried to look at the houses in the background but couldn't tell. We first started bass fishing down there and I've only went once crappie fishing before they sucked it down and although boats were everywhere I didn't catch a fish down there, very disappointed after all the hype, I think they were bream fishing that day in early, early spring already. Too bad they drained the wrong lake in my opinion that lower lake was always better bass fishing than the upper lake.

We were on upper White Oak. Lower was drained DRY a few years back, but it's refilling now. You can catch and keep bluegills and cats, but NO crappie. I'm not a bass fisherman unless they start schooling in my vicinity. I have had some BIG FUN when that happens!

Bass fishermen hammer White Oak and they tell me that there are big ones in there. I grew up mainly crappie fishing and brimming in the Spring. My parents used to own a cabin on the upper lake. Had a lot of fun fishing growing up, then I had a party place for a few years before I got married. Wifey put a stop to that! I know White Oak pretty well and it's a hit and miss lake. I remember my dad, uncle, and I caught over 100 crappie one morning. I remember bass schooling all around while we were catching crappie. Just one of those wild days, I guess. I also remember lots of 1,2,3 fish trips where we released them back because we couldn't even catch enough to eat. GTT

We've trolled all around that lower lake back before the draw down and there's no much for depth changes other than when you drop off in the channel. I think we only hit the upper lake a time or two. Right before that draw down was last time I went down there cause I heard they was tearing them up. We all had to put in at that dam due to other ramps closed to low water. The ramp back East of the dam where you drive over the little bridge and the ramp is just right there was all dry that day, now I know why we tore them bass up off that bridge rip rap, lol. My buddy kicked about a $200 rod n reel overboard down there one time that we never found. He hit a stump while trolling, imagine that, a stump down there. Lots of 10 FOW down there once you get out of the channel so to say you was catching them 10' deep wont' tell folks much, lol, but that's about the right depth I fish most places and find em too.
