    Default Lake Conway Electrofishing Sample


    We just completed our 3rd night of electrofishing Lake Conway and all I can say is WOW! I know that yall are predominately crappie guys but there are also some that are like me and also fish for everything. During this years sample we saw over a dozen bass over 5 pounds, several 6 pounders, one bass over 7, and one over 8. We also saw so many big bluegill and redear that it was ridiculous. Here are a few pictures.

    ...and for all of you crappieholics, we found two areas on the lake that had had some serious concentrations of crappie spawning. All that I am going to say is that we sampled them in shallow areas with the bass. This was also the most crappie that we have ever seen during a bass electrofishing sample. It was unreal. I netted a few just to measure and weigh. Wish I had a coupe of days off...

    Great fishery there Matt and awesome pix. I had the opportunity to go on a shocking trip and it was am experience for sure .
