    Default Billy E and Hawgdog's

Weekend at Lake Washington for the FJ. Billy showed up friday in Marion about 4:00 am and we set out to Mississippi. After about a 3 1/2 hour drive we hit the lake for a little prefishing since it was my first time there and Billy's 2nd or 3rd (with single polling be his method of choice those couple of trips).

We checked in our cabin, unloaded the boat and was fishing by 9:00 AM. After a couple hours of fishing, we headed back to the ramp to meet up with Al and back off we went. The wind was TOUGH friday, but we managed to boat 5 crappie before we decided to head back in and have a few .

Took a joy ride around the lake and headed for the "Meet and Greet" to meet up with some fellow crappie.comers. Billy E cooked some hotdogs and Donnie (Crappielogic) cooked up some deer burgers. I will not elaborate, but KDavid stole the show!!......... After some fellowship with old and new friends we headed back to the cabin to get things organized for Saturday morning.

After pre-registering Friday night, we got up Saturday Morning and had coffee and breakfast. With the cabin on the water and the boat handy in it's slip, we headed out about 6:45. At 7:01 we had poles in the water and are staring a hole in those 8 rod tips.

After a tough day fishing ( and a huge mental mistake....I will let someone else elaborate). We headed back to the weigh in with 3 fish. As the weigh in concludes (with "lil bit" stealing the show), we realized how tough of a day it really was.

I believe there were 21 boats that entered the FJ, with only 8-10 boats weighing a fish. Of those, only 2 weighed 7. Congrats to Feesh and Gitdagrease on a well deserved win for a couple of GREAT GUYS!! Not sure, but I think we finished 6th and Arkansasbowhunter and "Lil Bit" finishing 3rd (with a 2nd place big fish).

After the weigh in, Billy and I headed back out to "Shoot" some docks. I was having withdrawels looking at all those docks and we had to give it a try. We couldn't find any with deep water and struck out on the docks. I'm sure those docks will start producing in a few weeks and I sure wish I could be there.

As the sun started setting on Saturday ,we headed back to the cabin. After a long day fishing, we had a few (more) beverages, watched a replay of the Olympic mens hockey game between the US and Russia....USA USA USA USA !!!!!!!!!!!! and hit the sack.

Even after a tough day fishing Friday and Saturday, we couldn't help ourselves to give it another try Sunday. We headed out to fish new water we scouted out late saturday afternoon. Ran into Scott (Cricket) as he just couldn't resist as well. Fished a couple hours with little success and headed back to the area we fished Saturday. We ended up fishing until noon Sunday and only caught 6 crappie, 1 cat, and 2 stripers.

All in all, it was a tough weekend fishing. But I can honestly tell you, the people fishing these FJ's are great fishermen and even greater people. I want to thank everyone involved in running these FJ's personally and sure hope we will see yall soon.

Sorry, as I didn't get any pictures. But Billy took a few and I'm sure he will post soon.

Once again, a special THANK YOU, for all the directors that take the time to make these FJ's a success. I had a great time Billy and can't wait until the next trip.
