I love my ShiWomano's. They just feel good in your hands!!! :-)

None taken. We all have our preferences and budgets!

There are lots of good ones. I've never had the Okumas and like the pfluegers myself but bought an Abu G tonight that I liked on a small pole for bream fishing and light crappie fishing when there's casting involved, then there's those pricier Shamano's and Diawa's which are pretty good. I really like the Pfluegar President series myself though.

anybody try the Inline ice type reels yet from Eagle? I bought an aluminum spooled rear reels setup and jig pole for my dipping rod...Gotta wait and see how I like the drag system yet though.... Real nice drag system it seems and 5 bearing type reel,,, smooth!

Nope haven't tried those. After reading the bickering over shimano vs phluegar reels I wanted to put in my 2€. Shimanos r good but more $ also. That Stella is over $100 reel if I remember correctly, good but too rich for me. I bought my dad a small spinning setup a couple years back from tackle box in ft smith and had to go with a shimano, it's as good as my phluegar reels but its no Stella it's a cheaper one. For the $ ill stick to my phluegar reels.

Better add a zero at the end of the price. The "cheap" stella's start about $700 and the one referenced earlier in the thread starts over $1000.

You can buy ALOT of "cheap" reels from grizzly and the like for the price of some of those. Although I have a few $300 shimano setups that I love dearly. But 700 to 1000...I can think of ALOT of other places that kind of money could go. But to each his own.
"But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 25:15
