Me too mike. Was a hi tek guy until I tried them. I love hoe they stay set, easy to adjust, for sure, even adjustable height. Downside is they are a bit bulkier than hi tek but I wouldn't trade em back.

Just got back from Weiss Lake and some good fun long line trolling. These holders are AMAZING. First time I have used them and could not have asked for anything better. I looked for many months and at many different brands. These caught my eye and I am glad they did. The ease of adjustment with no tools and the sturdiness took my by surprise. You will break a rod before these holders give way, I promise. There were many times I looked to see a rod almost bent double thanks to a stump bed, but the holders held the rod and never gave in. These are not a purchase, they are an investment that will pay off for many years to come!! Don't buy holders without looking at these.

Had some hi teks and didn't care for the play at the base. So I bought these and man I love mine. I've broke them in nice the last few days.

Did you mount these with just the screws through the carpet and into the aluminum, and if so,how are they holding up? I'm not able to secure with nuts and bolts in my rig and just wondered how they would hold up with just screws?

I don't have an aluminum boat but I think it will matter, to some degree, how thick the aluminum is you're screwing it into. However, I can say that the 4 screws in the mounting base will loosen some on my fiberglass boat if I transport my boat with the racks installed. But never had a problem once I started taking them off and laying them down in the boat.

Ditto......I still have two sets of modified Hi Teks on the back of my boat to pull crankbaits with....but up front I have two sets of Spyder Loks
