    Default This week Dardanelle

This upcoming week I am going to be in Russellville all week for training. I have a meeting Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I took Friday off to have the whole day to fish. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings as soon as I get out of meetings I plan to go straight to the lake an start fishing. I plan on putting in at the boat ramp by Illinois bayou by the 64 bridge. I was hoping to get some pointers to make this week successful. My goal for this week is not to limit out each day but to learn Lake Dardanelle and hopefully catch some fish along the way. I know numerous threads have spent time breaking down this body of water but it is still a bit overwhelming. A month or so I know the crappie were being caught in the strip pit

But I was curious where I should concentrate my efforts now. I figure ill look for the brush piles that ABH posted and look to see if any fish are holding on them.

Previous pm should be good right now. Mouths of coves and bays near flats.

Thanks for the pm I'll definitely take your advice and check out the channels. It would make sense for them to run them this time if year.

Lake Dardanelle area received alot of rain this weekend.I went and looked at big and little piney creeks above the bay today, very high and muddy.Illinois bayou probably the same.Be very CAREFUL of debris in the bays.Best bet for fishable waters this week may be the back of the strip pits.

Just an update on my week here so far. I've been getting out later than I expected so I've only had a few hours on the water in the evenings. Tuesday night I put out juggs and no takers. I found some fish ( crappie I assume) on the bridge pilings but it was too windy to fish for em. Wednesday I tossed juggs out and let em soak while fishing around the nuke plant. I never found any crappie around the nuke plant. Didn't even see a fish on the depth finder. Went to gather the juggs and pulled in a 30 lb blue Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1363272183.499474.jpg

Size: 22.3 KB that one made it worth it! I've had fun exploring lake Dardanelle and can't wait to fish with Don Friday.
