depends on how big an ol' boy are you. For me a 10 footer is useless unless it comes with a snorkel. 12 footers are cramped and with a buddy you won't like much wind. just man up and get a 14 footer. maybe not a 36 incher but at least a 34. hauled one around a lot back in the day. they are never too big when you get them there. you can thank me later.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.

I see you go back to the days of the Ozark Tail Nail, which, by the way was invented not too far from here. Too busy working and catching minners to build a paddle

Here is an interesting link to the Tail Nail. Once you get to the site, you can donload the pdf on the patent.

Oops this is the one on the Ozark Tail Nail, but both would work. http://www.google.com/patents?id=scY...page&q&f=false

I fish from a Bass Hunter model baby bass Name: Bass-Baby-Wheels.jpg
Views: 14773
Size: 14.3 KB 50ft lb Minn kota, depth finder. Bucks the wind better than any flat bottom I've been in. 130 lbs but with wheels on back it's a pleasure from truck to water.
Also note I got trough Bates Field & Stream at lake Conway

    I have a 13' X 32" I would make a good deal on.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty, well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "WOW what a ride".

I've got a 12 x 32 and a 10 x 32. I rarely fish out of the 10' boat. Both are aluminum. I love that 12' boat. I use it anytime I want to get in to those hard to reach places. I bought it new 12 years ago and some one will get it when I leave this world. They just don't wear out.

10' stability vs. 12' stability, no comparison. 12' wins.

RCC, that 5 gallon bucket full of water doesn't work. I put a 48 qt cooler full of water (water dipped with said 5 gallon bucket), a 5 gallon bucket full of water and my spare tire. But then again, I'm just a tad bit larger than most that skull from the front of a 12' boat!

Bass Hunter EX. My dad and I both have them. Can fish 2 easy. I can stand on the edge and not bring the other side up. I put a 3.5 Nissan on the back and a 50# MinnKota on the front. It's heavier than the other plastic boats because it's made out of polyethylene, not the same as plastic that will crack and bust. Another thing is how quiet it is. No comparison between it and any aluminum boat.

Aluminum!!!!! Got both. Plastic cracks, bulky, wind catches them big time! Can fix up aluminum boats to be comfortabl with bass seats etc. Bucket trick works AWESOME! And you can attach rod holders and other accessories to aluminum boat.

Plastic boats are fine but store of out direct sunlight as it damages them. My brother years ago had one and it spun around alot till him and a friend built a spring loaded rudder to help it track straight . Draw back to small Aluminum is they are not real stable. I use a canoe some for setting limblines or casting but wind moves it alot, Sure is easy to paddle .
