However, I sympathize with dock owners being apprehensive about people fishing around their docks at night: they're prob. afraid of theft. One time I had a bass fisherman fish my dock at 3:00 am. I watched him from the cabin and picked up my shotgun just in case.
I have no problem with that Maggies, I'd do the same thing these days cause it ain't like it used to be. That cove I trolled way back in and used my spot light to search for beds with I didn't stay back there very long and was hoping the guys watching me would simply see I was looking for fish, or evidence of fish that is. Youve still gotta give folks a certain amount of trust. I think if somebody ever stepped out on my dock i'd let em know I was there.

Pay attention youngsters. As a recovering bass fisherman, promise you if you ever see one by your dock at 3 in the morning, shoot him... He is either there to steal your boat, or your daughter....or your dog, or your lawnmower, or your bbq...or

Not necessarily, a good avid bass fisherman knows they bite best during that time. I've mounted 2 bass one was at 2am and the other caught about 12am.

I've fished Lake Hamilton alot and some of them guys do try and say stuff like that. One reason is because that lake can be hard to fish. Most people around that lake put out big brushpiles around different docks and I've caught some of my best bass and crappie.

Whether it is river fishing, ocean, lake, or stream, structure is where one looks for fish. Last time i checked, docks are structure. There will always be people, who do not want to share. Apparently, they never watched sesame street.
